When a person is arrested in Alabama and faces any type of criminal charges – misdemeanor or felony – it is imperative that the charge is taken seriously. Any criminal conviction on your record could result not only in immediate criminal sanctions, such as fines or jail time, but also in ancillary consequences, such as a license suspension, difficultly finding employment opportunities or even difficulty finding housing. Drug charges, in particular, can have a significant impact on your life.
Two brothers may be facing these potential consequences as, according to reports, they were arrested recently in North Huntsville on July 13. The reports indicate that the brothers were stopped in their vehicle on that date, but the number of law enforcement agencies involved in the stop indicates that this was no routine traffic stop. The sheriff’s office, FBI, DEA and even a K9 unit were involved in the traffic stop.
According to the reports, the brothers were found to be in possession of illegal drugs, including fentanyl, as well as cash and a firearm. Both were arrested after, allegedly, there was some physical resistance to the law enforcement officials’ efforts to place the brothers under arrest. Both suspects now face a range of criminal charges.
